Bumble is a new concept cafe and play space created by Mary Heffernan for families in downtown Los Altos to gather, meet other parents, enjoy a healthy meal with their children, and/or relax with friends while the children play. The menu serves farm-to-table fare most anyone will enjoy- even if you don't bring children along!

Mary has designed and executed other child-based businesses over the past 10 years and had been working on a concept to combine good food, a warm atmosphere, beer/wine and a playspace for a long time! She and her family moved from Menlo Park to Los Altos in 2010 and Mary found the little cottage on First Street calling for a new use. After a lot of construction and planning - Bumble opened it's doors 14 months later.

Bumble includes a full service cafe with organic and locally sourced food as well as beer, wine, champagne and San Francisco’s Four Barrel Coffee. The menu offers breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea as well as host special events, clubs and private parties in the evenings. 

Bumble, formerly known as Cottage Green, is a quaint 100-year old cottage filled with tons of charm making it the perfect place for Bumble. It was suspected to have been the home of the Los Altos town Librarian when the original library was across the street. We have been working hard to keep it's charm and character and add vibrant new life to downtown Los Altos.
